I have trouble with boots as well. I found some online by just googling ‘boots for fat calves’ or something similar. I found a few sites. I ended up getting some they were quite nice. They weren’t leather but they looked good and they weren’t that expensive either. They zip up the inside of the calf. Since I’ve worn them they’ve stretched and they’re very comfortable now. In Australia, StyleTread, have some & they ship free.
