Hiya. Somehow, in fate's perfect way of acting, I have been brought back to this lovely domain. Recently, since I am thriving to be a fashion designer, I have been reading how it's hard to find (without carefully looking) clothes for plus sizes, and that at times most are unflattering (which I think is rather mostly depending on someone's body shape/type). What do you think about that?
I’m in two minds about ladies plus size fashion. Yes, there are a lot of places that do carry plus size clothing and they are pretty ugly, let’s be honest. But there are also some great (albeit expensive as all get out) plus size fashion stores for women.
Finding nice clothing if you’re a larger lady is a lot easier now than it used to be. Target and K-Mart have plus sizes and they look nice, but there are plus size specialty stores like City Chic. Not to mention, we can utilise eBay.
One thing I do have a gripe with, is that how hard it is to find nice, good fitting clothing for the plus size man.
My partner is a bigger guy and it is so hard for him to find decent clothes. K-Mart have awesome comic book shirts that say they’re a 3XL when they’re actually more like a 1XL, Target are a bit better, they do carry bigger guy’s stuff, but in comparison to finding women’s clothing, plus size men have it a lot harder, there are big and tall stores, but you’re looking at over $50 for a plain T-shirt… I do think that being a bigger person in general, man or woman, it’s always slightly harder, or in some cases, much harder to find clothes that you like, that flatter and fit, and that don’t cost an arm and a leg.
